A typical day as a therapist at Move and Play

We aim to support every staff member to fit their work in to their lifestyle (and not the other way around!) – so no two rosters look the same at Move and Play!

We have some team members who start at 7am, and others who start at 9am.  We have some team members who work full time with a 4 day week, 4 ½ day week, or 9 day fortnight.  We have some team members working part time to fit in around their family commitments.

We encourage you to individualise therapy plans for each client, to ensure their individual needs are met.  So, on any given day you may be providing therapy in the clinic, or out visiting children and families at their homes, at school or daycare, or in the community such as at a local park, a shopping centre, or a library.

As a therapist at Move and Play, your diary is well spaced out, with plenty of time allocated to support you being able to deliver quality care to the children and family you see.  Some of the things that you will see allocated into your diary include:

  • Weekly mentoring (which is a rotation of whole team, individual discipline, complex case discussion and self-directed learning time)

  • Regular check ins and catch ups with your Clinical Team Leader to check in how you are going and to provide support

  • Preparation and planning time before every client to ensure you can provide quality care to your clients

  • Time allocated at the end of every session for note writing

  • Blocked off time every week for writing NDIS reports and AT applications

  • Travel allocated for any out of clinic sessions

  • Whole team meetings once a month

  • Team Days for half a day each quarter

  • Project blocks time to provide time for completion of projects or non-client related tasks

What our team says about working at Move and Play…

Key reasons our team is proud to work at Move and Play (gathered from our 2022 employee engagement survey):

+ Our company culture
+ Our company values
+ The skills and knowledge of our team
+ The quality of the services we provide

Move and Play has a strong reputation and strong relationships with visiting specialty services such as equipment providers who visit our clinics on a regular basis, providing collaborative care to our clients.  You will be able to attend joint appointments with these specialty services, assisting you to provide the best care possible to your clients, and building your clinical knowledge and experience as you do.

Depending on your experience and interest, we also provide opportunity for our therapists to deliver education sessions to local community organisations and other therapists.
Ultimately, we want to support our team members to be the best therapist and person they can be - both inside and outside of work!

We love what we do.

We are here because we love what we do, and we want to make a difference.

We work together.

We all pitch in and work together to help each other. No one is above any job. We have each other’s back. We are not afraid to ask for or accept help.

We are open minded and solutions focused.

We are open to suggestions, feedback, and ideas.
We look for opportunities to learn and improve. We are prepared to say something if we see something that doesn’t meet our standards. We look for solutions instead of criticising.

We are kind.

We seek to understand ourselves and each other. We act with honesty and integrity.

We think boldly and bravely.

We are prepared to try new things and fail. We ask, “What did we learn?”, not “What went wrong?”

We are here for each other.

We motivate each other. We celebrate and share successes. We are excited about greatness.

We are locally owned and locally run.
We are from the community, and for the community.
